Quest Interiors SMS Messaging Consent Policy

Purpose: Quest Interiors values the privacy and preferences of our customers. This policy outlines guidelines for obtaining consent from customers regarding receiving SMS (Short Message Service) messages.

Scope: This policy applies to all interactions where Quest Interiors collects personal information for the purpose of sending SMS messages to customers.

Policy:

  1. Definition of SMS Messages: SMS messages refer to text messages sent to a customer’s mobile phone number for the purpose of communicating updates, promotions, notifications, or other relevant information related to Quest Interiors’ products and services.
  2. Consent Requirements:
    • Explicit Consent: Before sending any SMS messages, Quest Interiors will obtain explicit consent from the customer. Consent must be freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous.
      1. In-person and Telephone Call – Quest Interiors Staff will obtain consent for SMS texting by verbal communication.  
        1. Explain the Purpose
          1. Clearly explain to the customer why you are seeking their consent to receive SMS messages. Provide examples such as appointment reminders, promotions, or service updates related to Quest Interiors.
        2. Inform about Opt-in nature
          1. Make it clear that receiving SMS messages is optional and that they have the right to choose whether or not to receive them.
        3. Describe the type and frequency of messages
          1. Inform the customer about the types of SMS messages they may receive (e.g., promotional offers, event notifications, customer service updates).
        4. Obtain Consent
          1. “Would you like to receive SMS messages from us about our latest promotions and updates?”
        5. Document consent
          1. Record the customer’s consent in your system. Include details such as the date and time consent was given, the method of consent (e.g., verbal agreement), and any specific preferences they expressed (e.g., frequency of messages).
        6. Provide Opt-out information
          1. Inform the customer that they can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying ‘STOP’ to any message received or by contacting Quest Interiors customer service directly.
        7. Confirmation
    • Opt-in Mechanism: Consent will be obtained through an opt-in mechanism on the Quest Interiors website. This could include checking a box on a website, filling out a form with a clear indication of consent, responding to a text message confirming consent, or any other method that clearly indicates the customer’s intention to receive SMS messages.
    • No Pre-checked Boxes: Pre-checked boxes or any form of assumed consent will not be used to obtain consent for SMS messaging.
  3. Information Provided During Consent:
    • Customers will be informed of the types of SMS messages they may receive (e.g., promotional offers, appointment reminders, service updates).
    • The frequency of messages should also be clearly communicated during the consent process.
  4. Right to Withdraw Consent:
    • Customers have the right to withdraw their consent to receive SMS messages at any time. Withdrawal of consent should be easy and straightforward, such as by replying ‘STOP’ to the SMS message or contacting Quest Interiors customer service directly.
    • Upon receipt of a withdrawal of consent, Quest Interiors will promptly cease sending SMS messages to the customer’s mobile phone number.
  5. Record-keeping:
    • Quest Interiors will maintain records of consent obtained from customers for SMS messaging. These records will include the method of consent, the date and time consent was obtained, and any additional information provided during the consent process.
  6. Compliance:
    • This policy complies with applicable laws and regulations regarding SMS messaging and consumer privacy rights in the regions where Quest Interiors operates.
